How many chapters are in Trek to Yomi?

With the side-scrolling action game finally out now for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, here's a breakdown of how many chapters there are in Trek to Yomi.

Trek to Yomi Chapter Count

Trek to Yomi's story includes a total of seven chapters that each take roughly 90 minutes to three hours to complete. In general, fans should expect to complete Trek to Yomi in around four to six hours.

Players will unlock a achievement/trophy for completing each one:

  • End of Kindergarten: Completed Chapter 1
  • After the Storm: Completed Chapter 2
  • Dust and Ashes: Completed Chapter 3
  • Fleeting Destiny: Completed Chapter 4
  • Afterlife Traveler: Completed Chapter 5
  • Trek’s End?: Completed Chapter 6
  • Samurai Dies Twice: Completed the game

These chapters do vary in length. The first couple, for instance, are significantly shorter than the last two. The game does indeed get more difficult the further you go.

Unfortunately, beyond these chapters, there isn’t any additional content. The only additional content you can play through is through the fourth difficulty, which is the same game but players can go down in a single hit.

Trek to Yomi is a black and white side-scrolling game from Flying Wild Hog. Set in the Edo period in Japan, the player controls a warrior named Hiroki who seeks revenge for the destruction of his village. The game carries a strong Kurosawa influence, particularly present in its cinematic action sequences.

Players must time their attacks and guards perfectly in order to survive the onslaught of enemies. A variety of weapons are available to utilize, such as a katana, bow and arrow, shurikens and more.
