How Many People Play Apex Legends? April 2023 Player Count

Respawn

With Apex Legends getting ready to close out Season 16: Revelry, just how many players are still dropping into the battle royale? Here's what Apex's player count looks like for April 2023.

Apex Legends is having a successful season. Despite breaking from tradition by not dropping a brand new Legend to play with in Revelry, Season 16 saw Apex reach its all-time player count peak. One big proponent of this was Respawn's decision to do a class-system overhaul.

Existing Legends had their roles revamped, being categorised into one of five “Remastered Legend Classes”:

  • Assault
  • Recon
  • Skirmisher
  • Controller
  • Support

Each of these new classes offer special perks for its Legends, effectively changing the landscape of Apex matches. This new system, alongside the new Team Deathmatch mode and a variety of balances and adjustments, have seemingly boosted the game's popularity.

So, what has all this attention done to the player count numbers. We're approaching the end of April, and with Season 16 set to end in early May, here's how many players are still diving into Apex Legends.

How Many People Play Apex Legends? April 2023 Player Count

According to Steam Charts, Apex Legends has achieved an average of roughly 243,750 in the last 30 days. It hit a peak of 572,373 players during that time.

The battle royale achieved an all-time player count peak of 624,473 back in February 2023, when Season 16 first dropped. Even though we're almost at the end of the season, Apex has still been maintaining a healthy player base.

It's important to note that these numbers only reflect those playing Apex Legends on Steam, not console. The actual monthly player count is likely much higher, but PlayStation and Xbox player numbers aren't readily available.

When comparing Apex's numbers to those of other battle royales, the game looks to be in a great spot. Activision's Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 had an average player count of 80,965 players on Steam in the last 30 days. This includes the launch of the game's new Season 3 during this time.

It'll be interesting to see if Apex Legends will continue to go from strength to strength with the launch of its next season this coming month.
