We have created a guide to help Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl players evolve their Yanma into Yanmega. With the release of the new game, players who have previously played Pokémon Diamond and Pearl have been enjoying the remake and have been busy catching and evolving Pokémon to fill up their Pokédex.
Yanma was introduced with the Generation II Pokémon and is a bug and flying type Pokémon. Yanma and its evolution, Yanmega, are known for being agile fliers and being able to see 360 degrees without having to move its head. To evolve Yanma into Yanmega, there is a particular way in doing so in the Pokémon games.
How to Catch Yanma in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
First, in order to evolve Yanma into Yanmega, players must have the Pokémon Yanma. Catching Yanma in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Peal requires a bit of work. First, trainers must have unlocked the National Dex. This requires the player to have seen all 150 Pokémon in the game, including Dialga or Palkia. After obtaining the National Dex, players must go to the Great Marsh in Pastoria City.
After arriving to the Great Marsh, go to the Safari building and up to the second floor. There will be binoculars that can be used for 100 Pokédollars. Look for Yanma through the binoculars and if spotted, take note of where it was spotted in the Great Marsh. There is only a 10 percent chance of seeing Yanma every day so this may take a couple tries. Players can then try and catch Yanma.
How to Evolve Yanma into Yanmega in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
In order to evolve Yanma, the Pokémon must learn the move Ancient Power before it can evolve. Yanma can learn Ancient Power once it reaches level 33. After learning Ancient Power, the next time Yanma levels up, it will evolve into Yanmega.
If Yanma does not know Ancient Power, trainers can also visit Pastoria City where the Pokémon can relearn the move at the Move Reminder. Yanma can then relearn Ancient Power in exchange for a Heart Scale.
