How to Get a Nuke in Warzone 2

Activision

For the first time in series history, it is possible to get a nuke in the battle royale format thanks to the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

As longtime players can attest to, getting a nuke in Call of Duty is a milestone that is extremely nerve-wracking to earn, but definitely worth the effort. Here's a breakdown of how to get a nuke in Warzone 2.

How to Get a Nuke in Warzone 2

As leaked before the game's official launch, it is indeed possible to get a nuke in Warzone 2. However, although it does function like the Modern Warfare II multiplayer MGB version in that it immediately ends the game once it's called in, it is earned differently in Warzone 2. Instead of simply going on a 25-kill gunstreak, players will have to complete seven specific steps across several matches on Al Mazrah.

1. Win Five Battle Royale Matches in a Row

This is arguably the hardest part, as winning five matches in a row is no small feat.

2. Start the Champion's Quest Contract

After winning five games in a row, loading into the next match will show that the Champion's Quest is available. To get it started, you will need to go to one of the three specially marked icons on the map and pick up the contract.

3. Locate Elements

At the this point, players will have to find and collect three elements to assemble the nuke: Tritium, Beryllium and Plutonium. They will each be revealed one at a time. Meanwhile, every other player in the lobby will be able to see your location as long as you have any of the nuke components in your possession.

4. Waiting for Bomb Reveal

After collecting all three elements, you will have to successfully hold onto them for about 11 minutes until the bomb site shows up on the map.

5. Assemble the Nuke

Once it appears, you will have five minutes to make your way over to the site and assemble the nuke by depositing all three elements.

6. Arm the Nuke

Once you've deposited all three elements, you will then have two minutes to successfully arm the nuke by planting it.

7. Defend the Nuke!

Lastly, the nuke's position will be revealed to all players in the game. You then have to hold out for two minutes and defend the bomb from being defused until its detonation. Once the timer ends, the nuke will end the game, giving its planters the Champion's Domination screen and cutscene.
