Poliwrath in Pokémon GO is pretty hard to predict, so here are five of the best Pokémon to use against them.

As a water and fighting-type, Poliwrath has a lot of strengths. What with Bubble and Dynamic Punch being their best offensive moves, you will have to plan carefully if you want to take one on.

Poliwrath Weaknesses in Pokémon GO

So, how do you do that exactly? Well, there are five different types of Pokémon that deal the most damage to Poliwrath, and we hope to outline some of the best Pokémon you can use as a counter here:

Fairy

For this type, Gardevoir is probably your best best. As a dual type Pokémon, they have a a good flexibility between fairy and psychic-type. Their defensive fairy move, Dazzling Gleam, deals a good amount of damage to Poliwrath.

Flying

Another dual type that can really do a lot of damage to a Poliwrath is Moltres, but for now we'll just focus on their flying-type attack, Sky Attack. As their main move, it does take a little longer, but the amount of damage issued is worth it.

Psychic

Psychic attacks are probably your best bet for taking on a Poliwrath, and who better to do that with than Deoxys. Using either Zen Headbutt or Zap Cannon will critically damage any Poliwrath.

Electric

If you are headed more in an electric-type destination, then try out Zekrom. As an electric and dragon-type Pokémon, their Wild Charge attack will cripple any opponent.

Grass

Okay, so if you're going up against a Poliwrath, a grass-type is probably the weakest of the counters you can use. That doesn't mean its bad though, they can still do quite a bit of damage. Roserade's Solar Beam or Bullet Seed is still going to get you a long way into defeating that Poliwrath.

So, while these are some of the best Pokémon you can use to counter Poliwrath, any of these types of Pokémon will also do a bang up job.
