Warzone 2.0 'Al Mazrah' Map, Gameplay Features, Release Date Revealed

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 was finally revealed in full during the COD: NEXT event Thursday.

From the new map and gameplay features to its official release date, here's a breakdown of everything you need to know about Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

Warzone 2.0 'Al Mazrah' Map Revealed

The brand-new flagship map for both Warzone 2.0 and DMZ will be called Al Mazrah.

Al Mazrah is said to be the biggest Call of Duty map made to date, and includes all 18 of the point-of-interest (POI) locations that were previously leaked:

  • Oasis
  • Taraq Village
  • Quarry
  • Rohan Oil (Oilfield)
  • Al Mazrah City
  • Caves
  • Hydroelectric
  • Marshlands
  • Port
  • Sa’id City
  • Observatory
  • Al Sharim Pass
  • Cemetery
  • Abkdar Village
  • Sawah Village
  • Sariff Bay
  • Fortress
  • Airport (Terminal)

Warzone 2.0 Gameplay Features Revealed

Here are the new gameplay features that were discussed during the Warzone 2.0 reveal:

  • New vehicles and player mechanics: Ability to shoot tires, lean out of windows, jump on roofs of cars, vehicles run out of gas, the addition of gas stations to refill and repair, doors can blow off
  • Proximity Chat confirmed: Ability to talk to teammates and enemies in-game
  • Players are encouraged to develop loot paths: Consistent spawns for medicine cabinets, POI caches, military crates, etc.
  • New multi-circle closure: Gas can split into two, three and even four circles at times to create micro-battles, and merge back together
  • All-new Gulag: 2v2 setting with an AI presence
  • Strong holds: Areas occupied by AI in which players can fight to access better items and loadout items
  • DMZ: Will arrive with Warzone 2.0 at launch as a sandbox experience where players can loot Al Mazrah and extract on their terms, choose which missions you want to accomplish, play how you want

Warzone 2.0 Release Date Revealed

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and DMZ are set to launch free-to-play worldwide as part of Modern Warfare II Season One on Nov. 16, 2022.
