Honkai: Star Rail – Qingque build and ascension guide
By Marco Wutz

Roll the dice and try your luck with the best Honkai: Star Rail Qingque build. This character feels almost like a break through the fourth wall by HoYoverse, as Qingque is wholly reliant on luck in combat. She’s a follower of the Path of The Erudition and deals Quantum DMG.
Table of Contents
Qingque has one of the most unique mechanics out of any character in the game so far, drawing up to four tiles from three different suits into her hand. The goal is to get four Tiles of the same suit.
Here is how Qingque draws Jade Tiles:
- Qingque draws one Tile whenever an ally starts their turn.
- Qingque draws two Tiles upon using her Skill.
Here is how Qingque throws away Jade Tiles:
- Qingque tosses one Tile of whichever suit she has the least amount of Tiles from during her Basic Attack.
- Qingque consumes all Jade Tiles when entering the Hidden Hand state.
Whenever Qingque has four Jade Tiles of the same suit, she consumes them all to enter the Hidden Hand state, gaining ATK and enhancing her Basic Attack to become an area-of-effect attack with boosted damage.
Her Skill, A Scoop of Moon, lets her draw two Jade Tiles and immediately gains her an extra turn. It increases the damage of her Basic Attack for one turn, which can stack up to four times.
Qingque’s Ultimate, A Quartet? Woo-hoo!, deals Quantum DMG to all enemies on the field based on her ATK stat. It also changes all of her currently held Jade Tiles to the Fish suit.
Eidolon levels, which are gained by pulling duplicates of characters, are another way of powering them up. In Qingque’s case, Level 1 boosts the damage of her Ultimate and Level 2 regenerates a point of Energy whenever a Tile is drawn. Level 4 gives Qingque a 24% chance to trigger Autarky until the end of her next turn after using her Skill, which allows her to launch a Follow-Up Attack against the target of her next Basic Attack. Level 6 enables her to restore a Skill Point for the team after using a Basic Attack enhanced by Hidden Hand, which otherwise is not possible.
Honkai: Star Rail – Qingque: best Light Cones
Qingque is best equipped with Before Dawn, Jing Yuan’s signature Light Cone. It increases the wearer’s CRIT DMG, Skill DMG, and Ultimate DMG. Additionally, it creates a stack of Somnus Corpus after using a Skill or Ultimate, which is then consumed to enhance the next Follow-Up Attack by the wearer.

- Before Dawn (5-Star)
- Night on the Milky Way (5-Star)
- Geniuses’ Repose (4-Star)

Honkai: Star Rail – Qingque: best Relics
Qingque wants all the traditional damage dealer stats: ATK, CRIT DMG, CRIT Rate, and SPD. However, the Poet of Mourning Collapse set has introduced a new way to play her, completely foregoing any SPD stats to maximize her damage output. Naturally, your choice of Relic Set is decisive when it comes to the stats you need to build.
Qingue has a base SPD of 98 and gains 10% SPD for a turn whenever she uses her Enhanced Basic Attack, allowing her to benefit from Poet of Mourning Collapse’s effects consistently — at least from the first stage. Naturally, you’ll need to be careful when it comes to teambuilding, too, avoiding abilities and effects that raise Qingque’s SPD further. Poet of Mourning Collapse offers the highest damage potential for Qingque on paper, but may not be worth the trouble for every player.
Best Relic Sets for Qingque in HSR:
- [With SPD] Genius of Brilliant Stars (4) – +10% Quantum DMG, wearer ignores 25% DEF when attacking enemies with Quantum Weakness.
- [No SPD] Poet of Mourning Collapse (4) – +10% Quantum DMG, -8% SPD, +20%/32% CRIT Rate when the wearer’s SPD is lower than 110/95.
Best Planar Ornaments for Qingque in HSR:
- Rutilant Arena (2) – +8% CRIT Rate, +20% Basic Attack and Skill DMG when the wearer's CRIT Rate is 70% or higher.

Honkai: Star Rail – Qingque: best teams
Qingque isn’t a character for players who love to be in total control and optimize things — she’s the gambling queen. She can utterly fail you in a fight due to unlucky tile pulls or totally crush an enemy with a barrage of Enhanced Basic Attacks and Follow-Up Attacks that land critical hits. What’s most important is that she’s a very fun character to use.
- Qingque (Main DPS), Sparkle (Support), Silver Wolf (Support), Fu Xuan (Support)
Qingque is the main source of damage this Mono-Quantum party has to offer. Sparkle is the perfect playmate for her, as the Masked Fool provides the necessary infusion of Skill Points to fuel Qingque’s gambling addiction, in addition to contributing offensive buffs. Silver Wolf can debuff enemies and implant Quantum Weakness in them, ensuring that Qingque fights at her full efficiency. Finally, Fu Xuan keeps the team healthy by absorbing incoming damage. Lynx is the budget version for the final slot instead of Fu Xuan.
Jade, Cipher, and Tribbie are robust Sub DPS or Support options to replace Silver Wolf, though this is only recommended if you’re facing enemies that already have the Quantum Weakness. Anaxa, of course, can be used to implant Quantum Weakness in Silver Wolf’s stead.

Here’s everything you need to know to get Qingque ascended to the maximum level and upgrade all of her talents.
Qingque requires the following ascension materials to get to level 80 in addition to the necessary XP:
- Credits x246,000
- Thief’s Instinct x12
- Usurper’s Scheme x13

You can obtain Thief’s Instinct, Usurper’s Scheme, and Conqueror's Will from Voidranger Reavers and other enemies in the Storage and Supply Zones of Herta Space Station as well as the Simulated Universe. You can create or exchange them through the Omni-Synthesizer on the Astral Express, too. Thief’s Instinct are one of the base materials you can easily farm through the Daily Assignments to your characters, making for a consistent income of the material.
Void Cast Iron is dropped by the Stagnant Shadow (Base Zone) or gained through exchange. The best source of Credits are the Golden Calyxes found on many worlds.

- Thief’s Instinct x28
- Usurper’s Scheme x42
- Conqueror's Will x42
- Key of Inspiration x12

For the materials already mentioned, check above. Keys can be farmed in the Crimson Calyx (Rivet Town). As usual, you can create the high-level materials by using up lower-level materials in the Omni-Synthesizer on the Astral Express.
Guardian’s Lament is a rarer material only gained from the Echo of War (Everwinter Hill) domain, while Tracks of Destiny can be obtained during time-limited events, the Embers Exchange, the Nameless Honor, or as a Simulated Universe Points Reward.
