How to upgrade flasks and ping items in Elden Ring Nightreign

I’ve already written a guide for what you should prioritise on Day One and Day Two of Nightreign, and upgrading your flasks is easily one of the most important. It’s easy enough to do, but you’ve got to be quick because the churches you need to visit are often spaced around the edge of the map, and become inaccessible when night falls and the zone closes in. 

How to get max flask charges in ER Nightreign

There are always three churches. The ones you haven’t visited are highlighted in a golden hue before you’ve visited them. Ideally, you should imagine a route along these while completing other objectives. Don’t forget that you can scan and ping on the map whilst moving. 

You can take advantage of Spiritstream jump points and Spectral Hawks to speed up your journey –  for the hawks, you can visualise their circular route on the map screen.

Once you reach the church, you’re generally safe to enter the ruined remnants of the building, but occasionally you’ll have to deal with some rats. Inside, you’ll find boxes with consumables along the edges of the room and an altar with a glowing item at the center. 

Make your way to the altar, and you’ll get a prompt to interact and add a flask charge, which will permanently give you an extra healing item for the remainder of the expedition. 

You start with three flasks, you get an extra charge from the Night Two boss, and you can get another three flasks from churches. The maximum flasks you can carry into the final battle is seven. 

How to ping items in ER Nightreign

As for pinging, you can open the map and push in the right stick to ping a location. However, you can also call out specific items and weapons on floor loot, including things you want to drop for teammates. To do this, push in the left stick and press the jump button.
