Escape the enmity of days past with the best Wuthering Waves Qiuyuan build. This lone and wandering swordmaster is a 5-Star Resonator dealing Aero DMG, who specializes in supporting characters who deal Echo Skill DMG.

Qiuyuan’s core resource is called Swordster’s Soliloquy and is obtained from his Basic Attack combo, Dodge Counter, and Intro Skill. He can hold up to 600 Swordster’s Soliloquy at once. The resource unlocks several parts of his kit as you accumulate it.

At 200 Swordster’s Soliloquy Qiuyuan’s Basic Attack is replaced with Thus Spoke the Blade: Inkwash, which deals Aero DMG counting as Heavy Attack DMG.

At 400 Swordster’s Soliloquy he gains the Bamboo’s Shade effect, increasing the teamwide Echo Skill DMG.

At 600 Swordster’s Soliloquy Qiuyuan enters Inksplash of Mind, replacing his Heavy Attack. Using this Enhanced Heavy Attack consumes Swordster’s Soliloquy and deals Aero DMG counting as Heavy Attack DMG. However, this Heavy Attack also is considered as using an Echo Skill.

His Resonance Skill is a forward dash that deals Aero DMG counting as Echo Skill DMG. You can hold the Resonance Skill to dash a longer distance and leap into the air, if no enemies are nearby, causing Qiuyuan to continue air-walking as long as he has Stamina.

Qiuyuan’s Resonance Liberation deals Aero DMG counting as Echo Skill DMG and increases the CRIT DMG of his allies based on his CRIT Rate. His Outro Skill provides Echo Skill DMG Amplification to the incoming Resonator.

Obtaining additional copies to unlock his Resonance Chain provides further upgrades. One of the most crucial for his role as a Sub DPS is Node 2, which adds Echo Skill DMG Amplification to the effects of Bamboo’s Shade.

Qiuyuan’s best weapon is Emerald Sentence, his signature Sword. It comes with a hefty boost to CRIT Rate, which maximizes his own damage and the value of his CRIT DMG buff to allies. Additionally, the weapon increases its wielder’s ATK and grants them a stack of the Bamboo Cleaver effects after they’ve used an Echo Skill following their Intro Skill or Basic Attack. 

As Qiuyuan can use both his Echo and his Enhanced Heavy Attack to cast an Echo Skill, he can easily reach the maximum of two stacks of this buff, increasing Heavy Attack DMG. Further, Emerald Sentence grants an Echo Skill DMG boost to the entire team after its wielder uses an Intro Skill.

Being a Sub DPS to support Echo Skill DMG-based Resonators, the Law of Harmony Sonata Effect is an excellent choice on Qiuyuan thanks to its teamwide Echo Skill DMG buff. Its Heavy Attack DMG bonus also helps Qiuyuan himself. Add two Echoes from any of the three Aero-focused Sonata Effects for a little bit of extra damage to complete the build.

• Galbrena (Main DPS), Qiuyuan (Sub DPS), Shorekeeper (Support)

Galbrena derives most of her DPS from Echo Skill DMG, so having Qiuyuan on her team is an immense boon thanks to all the buffs he brings to the table. Shorekeeper is the first pick as the team’s healer.

Qiuyuan also has strong synergies with Iuno, who provides extra Heavy Attack DMG, and Phrolova, who benefits from his Echo Skill DMG boosts while allowing him more field time. Consider adding Cantarella into the mix as a Support, if you want to go the Phrolova route.
