Nintendo announces pricing changes for Switch consoles, Switch 2 accessories in the United States

Changes are likely to be price increases due to tariffs.

Nintendo has announced that it will change the prices of Switch, Switch OLED, and Switch Lite consoles as well as accessories in the United States starting on August 3, 2025. While Switch 2 consoles won’t be affected, “certain Nintendo Switch 2 accessories” will see price changes.

Nintendo Switch Online memberships have escaped this round of changes as well, though the Japanese company noted that additional “price adjustments may be necessary in the future.”

Nintendo stated that these pricing changes were decided upon “based on market conditions” — the same line of reasoning behind the recent price increases on products in Canada. Therefore it’s safe to assume that the announced adjustments will increase product prices and not be a reduction.

Nintendo’s president has previously warned that the United States’ tariff policy is forcing the company to consider price increases even related to the Switch 2.

Earlier today, Nintendo announced the official sales numbers for the Switch 2’s first month.
