It appears the appearance and ability kit of the next character coming to Apex Legends has been leaked in full.
According to the leak, the next Legend will be named Ballistic, and is an Assault-type that specializes in giving their team an advantage in the firearm department.
The apparent leaks were published in recent days by Apex Legends content creator PWN hub, who says they received the intel from newer leaker NightTerras.
In the apparent screenshot of Ballistic's abilities, a handful of key information seems to have been revealed.
First, as mentioned in the past by prominent leaker Thordan Smash, it does appear that Ballistic, formerly known as Caliber, has had their previously leaked Suppressor Turret Tactical replaced for an ability that makes other players stow their weapons.
Here are the three abilities that Ballistic will seemingly have:
- Weapon Sling (Passive): "A sling where you can store a third weapon. Access via inventory or [keybind]. The sling weapon cannot take attachments."
- Smart Bullet (Tactical): "Shoots a projectile that debuffs the enemy. Enemies' guns will start [to] heat up as they shoot. Overheating will cause a reaction and deal damage. Holding the Tactical will allow it to lock on to a target."
- Weapon Enhancer (Ultimate): "When Activated nearby teammates get a buff applied. It gives faster reloads, unarmed move speed and Infinite Ammo. Ballistic's sling weapon will be equipped and upgraded to gold."
Secondly, this image seems to all but confirm recent leaks that Respawn Entertainment will be revamping the Legend classes in Season 16 and their respective Passive Perks. The likes of Crypto, Seer and Vantage can be seen grouped up with purple backdrops, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Loba and Newcastle are paired with green, and Caustic, Wattson, Rampart and Catalyst in Blue.
In the same image, we see that Ballistic is seemingly going to be an Assault character, which allows them to have a new passive perk that lets them "access red loot bins" and "carry extra ammo."
Ultimately, it will be interesting to see when the next Legend drops in-game, let alone if it turns out to be this Ballistic character at all. As mentioned by Thordan Smash in their latest YouTube video, they still believe that the next Legend will be coming in Season 17, but they also wouldn't rule out that Respawn could still perhaps move that up to Season 16 as a "surprise."
