Wondering whether or not Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II comes with Warzone 2.0? We've got you covered.

Now that the highly anticipated release of Modern Warfare 2 has finally arrived, it's perhaps no surprise that many are wondering if the purchase of the game is necessary to play Warzone 2 as well. Here's a breakdown of whether or not Warzone 2 is included in Modern Warfare 2.

Does Modern Warfare 2 Come With Warzone 2?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 does not come with Warzone 2. MW2 was released worldwide for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Battle.net and Steam) on Oct. 28.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, which has yet to be released, will be a standalone, free-to-play game that includes the all-new DMZ experience and traditional battle royale modes. You do not need to own MW2 to download and play Warzone 2 once it's released.

However, both MW2 and Warzone 2 are considered to be the headliners for Activision's "new era of Call of Duty." During the current MW2 pre-season period, players can already rank up, unlock and upgrade weapons, complete challenges and collect cosmetics that will all be integrated with Warzone 2. Warzone 2 will also drop on the same day as the launch of Modern Warfare 2 Season 1. At that point, players will be able to share Battle Pass progress across both Warzone 2 and MW2.

Like MW2, Warzone 2 will be completely separate from the original Warzone, Modern Warfare (2019), Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard. All cosmetics from Modern Warfare (2019), Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard will not transfer over for use in the new battle royale.
