Our Warzone Pacific SMG tier list for January 2022 is here to break down which of the guns are the best to use now that the new meta has settled down a bit at the turn of the new year.

Now that the early "honeymoon" phase of Warzone Pacific and Caldera has firmly passed, along with Call of Duty: Vanguard integration and Raven Software's barrage of weapon balance passes that came with it, the battle royale's SMG meta has pretty much been established once again. Here are the best SMGs to use in Call of Duty: Warzone in January 2022.

Warzone Pacific SMG Tier List January 2022

S Tier

In S Tier is four SMGs that have established themselves as ahead of the rest of the pack. Like in Vanguard, the MP-40 has become quite easily the most popular gun in this game. Additionally, it has been the best performing SMG in the game, so until Raven and co. make some changes, it will continue to be the quintessential "meta" weapon to use in Call of Duty right now. Meanwhile, the OTs 9 has certainly dropped drastically in popularity but has still translated to high K/D ratios for those using it so feel free to keep doing so.

A Tier

In A Tier are six SMGs that are quite good up close, but generally won't outpace the aforementioned S-Tier options. Here, the M1912 "Tommy Gun," Type 100, and Sten join a lot of the former S Tier SMGs, including the Black Ops MP5 which unfortunately received hefty nerfs from Raven.

B Tier

In the B Tier are a handful of SMGs that remain solid but could still use a slight buff in order for more players to seriously consider using them. These options have a proven track record of being decent, but will likely be nothing to write home about throughout the new Warzone Pacific era.

C Tier

  • PP19 Bizon
  • ISO
  • P90
  • Nail Gun

In C Tier are five options that are simply mediocre and definitely need a buff in Warzone. An unfortunate, but telling sign of the times is that even in the new Warzone Pacific era, all of these guns as well as the ones below it, save for the Nail Gun, are all from Modern Warfare.

D Tier

Lastly, in D Tier are two SMGs that have been behind in the pack far too long. Don't bother using them as they truly need major buffs in order to be viable.
