Our Warzone SMG tier list for August 2021 is here to break down which guns are the best to use in Verdansk '84 and Rebirth Island now that the community has had a chance to see how the Season 4 Reloaded meta has shaken out.

With the launch of Season Five in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone just days away, which will add the brand-new semi-automatic TEC-9 SMG to the weapon class, here are the best SMGs to use in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 Reloaded in August 2021.

Warzone SMG Tier List August 2021

1. S Tier

As players are well aware of, Raven's Software's massive Season 4 Reloaded weapon balancing pass has had a profound impact on the close-range meta in Warzone, which in turn has shrunk our S Tier for SMGs from five to three. In terms of serving the traditional SMG role, the MAC-10 and the Modern Warfare MP5 are players' best bets at this point, with their handling and TTKs remaining the most superior of the bunch. In terms of a Sniper Support option, the Milano 821 is the best route with the close-range assault rifles (e.g. RAM-7, FARA 83, FFAR 1 and AK-47 (CW)) simply not being able to compete up close anymore.

2. A Tier

In A Tier are two SMGs that are quite good up close, but generally won't outpace the aforementioned S Tier options. The Black Ops Cold War MP5 isn't what it once was, but will still be able to get the job done along with the OTs 9.

3. B Tier

  • PPSh-41
  • Bullfrog
  • MP7
  • Uzi
  • PP19 Bizon
  • AK-74u
  • CX-9
  • AUG (MW)
  • Fennec
  • ISO
  • P90
  • KSP 45

In the B Tier are 12 SMGs that are viable, and could even become niche, hidden gems for certain players. However, these options are all pretty similar to each other at the end of the day, and just aren't quite as good as the more meta options.

4. C Tier

Lastly, in C Tier are three SMGs that have fallen behind in the pack with the way things have settled down. The Nail Gun was essentially replaced by the new OTs 9, the LC 10 took major nerfs to its maximum damage, minimum damage and headshot multiplier values, while the Striker 45 has just remained an afterthought by the dev team it seems.
