The hype cycle for Season 13 of Apex Legends is officially underway as more and more information about the upcoming content continues to spread both in and out of the game.

In recent weeks, the Apex community has been blitzed with leaks, potentially revealing everything from Storm Point getting some major POI changes, to a Titanfall 2 content crossover. On Thursday, Respawn Entertainment left some fresh cookie crumbs in the Control LTM, officially kicking off teaser season. (Potential spoilers ahead, of course.)

At the time of writing, players who load into Control will be shown a screen with holographic billboards of what appears to be a silhouette of the rumored upcoming Legend.

Weeks ago, amid the massive storm of leaks that allegedly showed off nine upcoming Legends, five or more weapons and new lore, one of the supposed upcoming characters appears to now fit the bill of the recently released teaser: Newcastle, a Defensive-class character whose kit revolves around protecting allies from gunfire and reviving teammates in safe positions:

  • Retrieve the Wounded (Passive): Drag downed allies while you revive and protect them with your Revive Shield
  • Mobile Shield (Tactical): Throw a drone that creates a moving energy shield
  • Castle Wall (Ultimate): Leap and slam to a target, ally, or area and create a fortified stronghold.

With the in-game billboard reading out, "The wait is over, he's here," it seems like Newcastle will be the headliner for Season 13, not only from the look of the silhouette but also from the team-saving role that their abilities revolve around.

According to Apex leaker ThordanSmash on Twitter, it also appears that Newcastle has not only already made their debut in the game's official lore, but is also the brother of Bangalore.

On the Korean version of the Jackson Bow Challenge story event, the subtitles apparently include the name Newcastle despite Bangalore referring to them as Jackson.

If Newcastle is indeed Jackson, it seems Respawn has been playing a bit of 4D chess considering they released Stories from the Outlands: Gridiron, a video on Bangalore and her brother, back in January.

Ultimately, as with all leaks, take this information with a grain of salt — none of this has yet to be officially confirmed.
