The best meta SMG loadout in MW3 Warzone Season 3 is not even up for debate.

As players experience Rebirth Island for the first time in years, a new meta is slowly emerging in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3. With a new one-shot sniper rifle entering the conversation, as well as an unexpected, dominate Battle Rifle, there are more choices in Warzone Season 3 than anyone could have anticipated. Despite all the new options in the long-range meta, though, the close-range meta is still exactly the same, featuring the most OP SMG in the game.

Best Meta SMG Loadout in MW3 Warzone Season 3

The best meta SMG in MW3 Season 3 is once again the HRM-9. The SMG has dominated the close-range meta for last few months in Battle Royale and Resurgence, and its S-Tier reign is not ending anytime soon.

Professional Warzone player, Ethan "Fifakill" Pink, showed off his updated HRM-9 loadout in a recent post on X. Check out his build below.

  • Barrel: Thorn-90 Barrel
  • Muzzle: ZEHMN35 Compensated Flash Hider
  • Ammunition: 9mm High Grain Rounds
  • Magazine: 50 Round Drum
  • Stock: Folding Stock

Many players expected the HRM-9 to receive a nerf in the Season 3 update, but the weapon only got its sprint to fire time increased from 94ms to 110ms. No real buff or nerf came for the HRM-9, making the gun just as good as it was throughout Warzone Season 2.

Although the DLC SMG is not as good as the HRM-9, it is still very effective in close range engagements, especially on a small, fast paced map like Rebirth Island.
