Our Warzone assault rifle tier list for September 2021 is here to break down which guns are the best to use in Verdansk '84 and Rebirth Island with the release of the Season 5 Reloaded mid-season update on the horizon.

Although Raven Software has continued to release patch after patch in recent days that have seen the C58, EM2 and Krig 6 nerfed on Aug. 20, the AR meta has remained fairly stable in Season 5. Here are the best assault rifles to use in Call of Duty: Warzone in September 2021.

S Tier

Continuing to sit atop of the Warzone meta at the moment are the Krig 6 and C58. Remaining the most popular weapon in the game by far, the Krig 6 is the easiest AR to suggest thanks to its nonexistent recoil pattern. Meanwhile, the C58 continues to register superb K/Ds for players able to master its tougher recoil pattern, according to WZ Ranked.

A Tier

EM2

  • FARA 83
  • QBZ-83
  • EM2
  • CR-56 AMAX
  • AS VAL
  • M4A1
  • Grau 5.56

In A Tier are a wide variety of options that are really good and remain generally very balanced to use in Warzone. The FARA 83 remains one of the most viable ARs in the game, while the EM2 has likely emerged as the best sniper support option. Another assault rifle to highlight in this tier is the QBZ-83, which shot up our rankings drastically last month thanks to its minimum damage, upper torso multiplier, and lower torso multiplier values receiving major buffs with the Season 4 Reloaded patch.

B Tier

These weapons in B Tier remain viable, but could still use a slight buff in order for more players to seriously consider using them. After receiving nerfs that simply made them outclassed in close-range fights, the XM4 and Black Ops Cold War AK-47 are now fittingly sitting in the same tier as the FFAR 1, whose similar heydays of sniper-support supremacy are long gone.

C Tier

RAM-7

  • RAM-7
  • Kilo 141
  • FN Scar 17
  • FAL
  • AN-94

The C Tier includes rifles that definitely need a buff in Warzone. The RAM-7 took the biggest hit of the sniper-support AR options after the Season 4 Reloaded update, while the rest remain not worth most players' time. An unfortunate, but telling sign of the current meta is that all five of these guns, as well as the ones below it, are from Modern Warfare.

D Tier

  • Oden
  • FR 5.56
  • AK-47 (MW)

At this point in the tier list, these ARs are not close to having a place in the meta. These three D-Tier assault rifles are really lacking a lot in a lot of departments and simply won't stand a chance at the moment.
