Our Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4 assault rifle tier list is here to break down which of the guns are the best to use in Caldera, Fortune's Keep, and Rebirth Island with the launch of Raven Software's latest major update.

With the Season 4 patch, although we didn't get the new Vargo-S assault rifle just yet, there were a handful of major changes made to options in the weapon class. As such, here is how the assault rifles stack up in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4.

Warzone Season 4 Assault Rifle Rankings

S Tier

In the S Tier are 11 ARs that remain to be key parts of the meta in Season 4. Now that the STG44 has been nerfed just about across the board, the NZ-41 with the Orbweaver 360mm BC barrel is now the undisputed best AR option in Warzone. The BAR did get nerfed a bit, which may lower its pick rate moving forward. The KG M40's damage received a buff, which should make it even more of a viable option. Carrying on the torch for the Black Ops Cold War weapons, the Vargo 52's buffs should make it even easier to use. The Volk, AS44, Cooper Carbine and Nikita AVT are the best AR sniper support options in the game. Meanwhile, the Automaton and XM4 have still translated to high K/D ratios for those using them so feel free to keep rolling them out in your loadouts.

A Tier

In A Tier are a wide variety of options that are top-tier viable and remain generally balanced to use in Warzone. Essentially, these ARs are sitting right outside of the main meta, but are still able to get the job done and allow you to be competitive. The Groza and Grav would be more popular sniper support options if it weren't for the S-Tier options above. After receiving some buffs, the Itra Burst and FFAR 1 could perhaps enter that elite sniper support conversation soon as well. Almost inexplicably, it appears Raven still isn't done nerfing the Black Ops Cold War AK-47 as its Sustained Recoil was slightly increased for some reason.

B Tier

These weapons in B Tier remain viable, but could still use a slight buff in order for more players to seriously consider using them. Ultimately, some of these are fairly popular still, but just aren't as statistically sound compared to the guns above.

C Tier

  • FR 5.56
  • AK-47 (MW)
  • FN Scar 17

Whether it's for long-range or sniper support, these C Tier rifles are not close to having a place in the meta and definitely need some buffs in Warzone.
